In the first instance, the Landmarks team mapped each biome at the 90+ ha site: beach, beach-dune, wetland, grassland, forest types, etc. Then, established baselines for each biome and developed a monitoring plan. The monitoring plan was accompanied by a series of recommendations to the builder to mitigate the impact of construction at the site. Mitigation recommendations were made for erosion prevention, guidelines for worker behavior, demolition activities, waste management, and forest fire prevention and response.
