INTRODUCTION
Landmarks provides eco-friendly, nature-based solutions to corporate clients and government partners. Our design process draws heavily on our environmental strengths. We start with an analysis of the site’s biophysical environment and social context, and interview the project’s stakeholders. This allows us to apply and adapt our clients’ vision to the reality into which it will be introduced.
The vision is expressed through an iterative process: story boards, conceptualization, alternative designs, and modeling. We then conduct the design development in-house, ensuring that outputs conform to the desired design narrative and preventing the loss of signature nuances.
Our wide-ranging projects have included:
• Residential, Commercial and Hotel and Resort Landscape Design and planning;
• Sustainable Natural Resources Management Planning (Environment, Biodiversity, Forests, and Water), e.g. for a 1,200 ha Recreation Area in Thai Nguyen, northern Vietnam, National Parks, etc.;
• Introducing LEED standards for landscape for commercial real-estate development projects;
• Monitoring the impacts of construction, e.g. for a 92 ha coastal resort in Phu Yen, central Vietnam.

Management
Mr. Kevin Marks, Landmarks’ managing director, has 20 years of landscape design and environmental planning experience in Vietnam with UNESCO, the Vietnamese government and several of Vietnam’s premier real-estate developers.
He has been recognized by the government for his outstanding contributions to design and planning in Vietnam, particularly in the fields of heritage management and conservation. His work on UNESCO World Heritage Sites has included the mapping and restoration of Hoi An’s historic architecture, re-establishing mangroves in Ha Long Bay, rehabilitating ecosystem processes at Tram Chim National Park, and mapping the Ho Chi Minh Trail in Phong Nha Ke Bang. This commitment to Vietnam’s natural and cultural heritage informs the design philosophy in all of his projects.
